Jessica Wayman, an entrepeneur in Tucson

Jessica Wayman

For Mother’s Day this year, we caught up with Jessica Wayman, one of our amazing Coworking triple threats: she’s a Member, a Mom and a Digital Mogul!

Jessica works for Bolton Ebikes, an ebike company located in Grass Valley, CA who offers electric bikes for anyone looking to combine fun and exercise into their outdoor excursions. She’s the behind-the-scenes person when it comes to anything digital – assisting customers with technical questions, selling ebikes, producing the Bolton Ebikes Podcast, helping run the Facebook Group, assisting behind the scenes for YouTube, Social Media, and generally keeping everything running smoothly.

She currently lives in Tucson, AZ with her lovely husband and adorable son. She shares some insights and thoughts on motherhood below:

What’s your favorite thing about being a Mom?
The incredible things my son teaches me! He can talk your ear off about dinosaurs down to what a Pachycephalosaurus is and what he likes to eat for breakfast. The next minute he’s telling me he is seriously impressed that lightning bugs are really moths. He tells me I look pretty every day. Editor’s Note: *swoon*

What advice would you give to a new Mom?
Make sure you take time to take care of yourself. Sleep. Seriously. You prob won’t ever get a chance to again. Also, no matter what, you’re rockin’ it. Being a mom is exhausting, but also one of the best jobs you’ll ever have. Always have fun with this new role. Yep. Sleep. Laugh. and Have Fun. Those are non-negotiables.

How have you thrived in your career while balancing life as a mother?
I am very lucky in that I get to work remotely for an incredible company of hard working individuals that understand the value of balance. Because I am a part of this team, I am able to be there as the mother I want to be. I’ve worked online for over 10 years and I’ve found that it’s very important when either in your own company or working for a company – that you do have the ability to find the flexibility that is needed as a parent. I’ve been able to grow personally and professionally by being in this role which has absolutely positively impacted my role as a mother.

We feel just as lucky to have you here @COMMONworkspace, Jessica! Wishing you and all the mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!
